Ikaki (2004)

In a project revolving around Ritual, I selected a mythological turtle-man character called Ikaki and his ritualistic dance of death. Since he's a turtle-man, I did a few studies of turtles. Snapper turtles have a very primitive, dinosaur-like look to them. The're scary. This is my sketch of one where I try to get the basic shape down..
