Cat Closeup (12.2004)
This is a print from a linoleum plate. It is a close-up of a cat's face. The extreme closeup and colors serve to abstract the image somewhat.
There were two parts to this series. First, the linoleum board itself, which was allowed to be eaten away for an hour by Mr Muscle ovencleaner. It was then carved into in the normal way. The second part was in the color-application and printing itself. In this particular print, the colors are applied in the normal manner with a roller, blocking off areas with newspaper, or rolling onto newspaper and then applying that onto the plate.
