Shamanistic Dragonfly Staff (08.2007)
Annoyed by the gear design in games like World of Warcraft where bigger shoulderpads = better and more spikes = even better, I thought I'd give a go to designing something more realistic. This is meant to be the shamanistic staff of one of my little trolls. (The trolls are about ankle-height for us). Something that WoW seems to miss out on is a closeness to nature, and so I worked from an image of a real dragonfly and designed something that a Shaman could have plucked an idea or item from nature itself and worked with it to create his own unique items.
